Apple Intelligence: The heart of the new experience

At the epicenter of WWDC 2025 we find Apple Intelligence, a suite that brings together advanced algorithms and large-scale models optimized to work entirely on the device.

Local processing strengthens privacy by avoiding sending data to the cloud, speeds up responses, and promotes seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem.

Apple Intelligence is made up of several fundamental capabilities: real-time translation, visual analysis of what happens on the screen, and the generation of rich content. Thanks to this approach, users will be able to enjoy more natural and secure interactions, without depending on permanent Internet connections.

Multilingual messages and calls

Live translation comes to Messages, FaceTime, and phone calls, offering real-time subtitles and voice translations. 

Forget about copying and pasting texts into external applications: write in your language and your interlocutors will receive the translated message instantly. During video calls, the conversation flows without interruptions thanks to subtitles generated on the fly.

This system works entirely on the device, so neither Apple nor third parties have access to the transcripts or conversations. Translation models support multiple language combinations, including Spanish (Spain), English (US/UK), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and more.

Visual Intelligence

Visual Intelligence allows you to convert any screenshot into an interactive window. When you press the capture button, iOS 26 and macOS Tahoe will display contextual options to search, extract data, or share relevant information.

 

For example, if you capture an image with an event date, the feature automatically detects the details and allows you to add it to the calendar with a single gesture.

In addition, you can select an object (an item of clothing, a place, or a product) and get search results without leaving the current screen.

Framework for offline AI

Apple has released a new framework for developers that makes it easier to integrate AI models that operate offline. With just a few lines in Swift, app creators will be able to run advanced AI functions without incurring server costs.

Startups and established companies are already experimenting with this system. For example, educational applications use it to generate personalized content based on user responses, and fitness apps incorporate image analysis to improve exercise technique.

Few changes to Siri, for now

Although some expected a complete renewal of Siri in this edition of WWDC, Apple has decided to postpone the profound changes until 2026. The company defends that it needs more time to guarantee quality, despite criticism from developers and users.

Promised improvements include better understanding of personal context, recognition of what appears on the screen and the ability to execute complex commands within apps. Until then, Siri maintains its current design and operation.

Speculations and Rumors: The Horizon of AI at Apple

Beyond the announced functionalities, various sources point to future collaboration with other AI companies to enhance assisted coding tools in Xcode.
