The return to routine has also begun for entrepreneurs. Yesterday Comunicagenia attended the program Museums & Business organized by Promálaga and RGD Factoría de Proyectos, whose objective is to unite culture and entrepreneurship.
The more than 20 invited companies had the opportunity to learn in depth about the Málaga Interactive Music Museum (MIMMA), through a guided tour in which we were able to observe the great cultural and professional experience behind the entity.
To the sound of classical music, the Palacio del Conde las Navas opened its doors to welcome businessmen and women with a warm welcome at a reception chaired by Eva Pérez, head of the Promálaga Incubator Network.
Pérez explained that these meetings are “social networking activities” whose objective is for the more than 200 companies in Malaga to “get to know each other.” The day has already been held in various museums in the city and on this occasion, “we started the course at the Interactive Museum of Music.”
Miguel Ángel Piédrola, director of MIMMA, in a close manner, explained to the audience the long path he had to travel to reach the museum we know today. A project that is the result of a lot of work that began to take shape 25 years ago as a dream through an exhibition in his family’s art gallery.
After years of collecting history, biography and musical instruments, the plan was taking shape through exhibitions and conferences, but it materialized when a young marketing student put his ideas into practice. After passing through the House of Sciences in La Coruña, Madrid, the Science Park in Granada, Seville and a long etcetera, the idea arrived in Malaga.
MIMMA was inaugurated in the city of Malaga in 2003 in the provisional headquarters of the Muralla Plaza de la Marina Exhibition Space, in that place they remained until 2013 when the entity moved to Beata Street, in the facilities of the Palacio del Conde de las Navas.
Piédrola explained that the museum’s mission is to be “intelligent” that is, to be able to adapt to visitors. Furthermore, he stated that “Málaga is a city that is committed to technology and cultural tourism”, which is why one of its objectives is “to make the museum serve as a space where technology companies can develop innovation projects.”
From the collection of more than 1000 pieces, Málaga can enjoy approximately 300 instruments of which “please play”, exhibited in a museum design that revolves around three colors: white, spaces of natural light and with large-format pieces; red, interactive rooms where everything can be touched; and the black one, rooms with the collections.
Through the visit, we were able to learn more about the music and get closer to a unique environment that highlighted the museum. Furthermore, we must not forget that the art of the muses, as Piédrola said, “is present in all the moments of your life”. If you have been wanting to know more, go to the MIMMA website and visit it.
