Along with virtual reality, a new concept appears that is here to stay due to the number of applications it has in different sectors. We are talking about augmented reality (AR). One of the areas where these new techniques have the best benefit is in digital marketing. We already explained the benefits that this technology brings when planning multichannel campaigns, so today we are going to see four examples of using AR in marketing campaigns.

1-PEPSI

Under the name Unbelievable, the soft drink company launched a campaign in 2014, which revolutionized new marketing spaces linked to augmented reality techniques. For this purpose, a bus stop in the center of London was prepared, to turn it into a space that would not leave anyone indifferent. Through a glass, transparent to the user’s eyes, images began to be shown that apparently interacted with reality. It was one of the first campaigns that opted for augmented reality.

2-COCA COLA

The other soft drink giant, Coca Cola, has not been left behind with the use of augmented reality as a complementary marketing tool. On the occasion of the Chinese New Year of 2018, the American multinational joined forces with the Chinese mobile application, Alipay. We leave you the result of the project below.

3-IKEA

The Swedish multinational is known for applying innovation in all its advertising campaigns, in this case we present it went one step further. The idea from the beginning was to introduce augmented reality technology to its already famous product catalogue. The result did not disappoint anyone.

Through mobile devices or tablets, users could focus on any space in their home so that the program would automatically add the decoration or furniture they were looking for. The application of this tool was a revolution for IKEA, offering to go one step further when offering services to its customers.

4-UBER

Finally, we cannot forget the campaign that the transport company carried out at the beginning of 2017 at the Zürich central station. Very similar to the one previously seen by PEPSI, in this campaign a screen was installed, this time with a mirror effect, in which users saw themselves next to a large number of virtual scenarios.
